First script read and stills for Nam-Namgoong couple in Chief Kim

Whoa, the time is passing too fast and the year is almost over. I can’t keep up with all the new awesome dramas coming up this January. It feels like just yesterday when Namgoong Min (Beautiful Gong Shim) was confirmed for workplace comedy Chief Kim, but the drama has already had its first script read, first round of stills, and will be premiering in just three weeks!

According to the latest synopsis update, our hero Chief Kim, played by Namgoong Min, is a gangster loan shark who is scouted by the TQ Group for his “natural Midas touch” as a middle manager. Due to unlucky fate and unfortunate circumstances, the TQ Group suddenly topples to the verge of bankruptcy when Namgoong Min eventually joins the company, thinking that he’s made it to the big leagues.

How will Chief Kim save the sinking company? With his trusty team of employees, of course: Nam Sang-mi (Joseon Gunman) stars as the “ace of the accounting department,” while Jung Hye-sung (Moonlight Drawn By Clouds) plays a mysterious but captivating intern. 2PM’s Junho (Memory) is in a supporting role as a cold but charismatic fellow. Interviews from the first script read explained that PD Lee Jae-hoon is optimistic about the drama because of the cast members’ acting skills and chemistry with each other.

KBS’s upcoming Wednesday-Thursday drama Chief Kim will be available for our viewing pleasure starting on January 25.
